The North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic takes places this year on Friday June 29 and Saturday June 30, and has moved yet again to another venue. I haven’t seen it yet, but it’s on the west side of Highway 6 near the corner of highways 6 and 310; the property is owned by the same folks that run Betty Davis BBQ just north of the Oxford/Marshall County line.
Online tickets and permits for camping are available only through June 21. Some cool packages will be auctioned off this year, and you can get a sneak preview at the website. Fans of Hill Country blues should also visit the website of Devil Down Records, which recently issued a third album of live recordings from the Picnic.
